It is worthwhile to check out the new front page of packages.granularproject.org. With the creation of repository for Granular 2, codename Wolverine, a need was felt to provide the option to browse all existing repositories through GPA. Developed using jQuery, the front page of GPA now acts as en entry point to browse the repositories [...]

Making of Granular Package Archive

29Mar09

Introduction
As I mentioned in my previous post on Granular Package Archive, GPA is based on two technologies/programming languages – Java and PHP. Yes, you read it right, as weird as a combination of a statically and dynamically typed languages. The Java-based backend programs are responsible for collecting all the necessary information about each RPM package [...]

Granular 1.0 is coming

28Dec08

December was a month of serious Granular development as all the Team Granular members worked hard in their respective areas to come out with the final release of much delayed Granular 1.0 as soon as possible. And so, finally we were able to complete all the tasks in our previously large next release to-do list, [...]

RPMs… RPMs…

08Dec08

These days, we are packaging RPMs like hell. A lots of them are being built to make them ready for the final Granular 1.0 release. And I am pretty well impressed with the speed with which Chris is doing this stuff. All the major pending updates are being taken care of right now as they [...]

Development: Status update

02Dec08

It’s been quite a long time since Granular 1.0 RC was released. The RC release was the last development release for Granular 1.0. Due to busy real-life schedules, Team Granular developers couldn’t take out much time to put in efforts to take out a quality Granular 1.0 final release. But things are changing now.
My college [...]

Quite some quiteness

03Aug08

All you guys must have noticed that our forums had been quite, in terms of activity, since some days not. Same has been the case on the development front. With me an Chris being busy with their respective “other” jobs. Although Chris was able to get a successful build of the latest 2.6.26 series kernel, [...]

Granular 1.0 RC coming soon

29May08

Yup, the work has already begun for the release candidate of Granular 1.0. That’s after 2 times missing the release schedule. Team Granular apologizes for missing the dates, which was primarily due to the unavailability of the main devs (including me) for RC’s development due to their commitment towards their other jobs/tasks.
The road map for [...]

Development Update – II

07May08

This time around, the development of Granular’s next 1.0 RC (Release Candidate) release had been really slow. The primary reasons again being the busy schedules of the devs in their day-to-day lives.
The last week saw some new updates in the Granular repository. The main packages updated being amarok, drakxtools and drakconf. Our 2008 repository has [...]

On-going development round-up

04Apr08

The previous week saw some slowness on the development front, the primary reason being me & Chris being busy with their respective works. But Chris surely was able to take out some time for the packaging stuff and made a handful of RPMs last week.
Among the most notable changes, we added these packages to our [...]
